Job Duties

This key position will be responsible for a broad range of marketing activities with a diverse set of business partners, including:

  • Creating, shaping, and publishing engaging content
  • Work closely with internal and external marketing team members to develop and manage an editorial calendar of content and communications
  • Creating, recommending, and implementing marketing programs and campaigns
  • Using our integrated email marketing platform to drive automation, customer engagement, and key business metrics
  • Developing requirements with internal business partner teams to identify opportunities for further automating the user experience – and delighting each customer
  • Ensuring regular collection of customer feedback across touchpoints, including NPS
  • Planning, coordinating and executing key industry events for the company and with partners where required
  • Managing website and social media properties and engagement
  • Driving the development and management of a marketing budget
  • Assisting with PR/communications strategy and requirements

Required Skills

The candidate must be a self-starter in the true sense of the phrase and work with minimal supervision, managing projects through completion. Candidates may be required to show examples of previous work.  Other requirements of the position include:

  • Proven ability to drive both strategy and tactics aligned to growth targets/outcomes
  • Produce effective content pillars, email marketing programs, and associated assets such as whitepapers, blog entries, eBooks, and videos.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools/platforms, e.g., ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, or equivalent platform (especially concerning campaigns, leads, and reporting)
  • Strong understanding of digital communication strategies, both written and visual, deliver-ability, and segmentation practices
  • Ability to communicate and present metrics effectively to support strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of data and how to put data to work
  • Seasoned oral and written communications skills
  • Detail-oriented and can work independently but also as a lean but scrappy team
  • Proficient in Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and other SaaS productivity tools

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business, marketing, or related field is required, with at least 5 to 7 years of marketing communications, direct marketing, and product marketing or related experience.
  • Experience with technical products, including consumer electronics, is desired; D2C experience is a plus for our B2B2C go-to-market.
  • Prior experience in a startup or smaller firm is preferred, or alternately, a strong desire to leap into this type of environment and a great understanding of what that means.

About the Role

Whisker Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Science team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for advancing Whisker Lab’s technology to detect early warning signs of electrical fires in homes, preventing one of the deadliest types of fires. The team’s primary focus is on developing algorithms, automation, and internal web-based tools to detect electrical fire hazards and enable our fire safety team to mitigate them efficiently.

We are fully remote and empower individuals to take leadership in driving their work. We collaborate regularly via Slack, ad hoc and small group meetings, and a formal full team weekly meeting. Whisker Labs is growing rapidly, but our data science team retains a high-energy, fast-moving, creative culture. We prioritize empowering individuals and trust you to make good decisions without substantial oversight while being proactive in reaching out when roadblocks appear.

You must have substantial experience in Python software development, and have experience developing front ends (e.g. using HTML/CSS/JS and frameworks like Flask + Jinja).

Job Duties

  • Lead developer for internal websites which convey data and data science outputs to our operations teams, and facilitate the management of the fire hazard remediation process
  • Support data science backend infrastructure
  • Improve the efficiency of existing data science infrastructure (code and cloud usage)
  • Participate in software design, production readiness, and code reviews

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other engineering discipline combined with significant coursework or experience in software development.
  • Substantial experience in Python software development
  • Experience with building webpages and designing a functional UI/UX, using Python web development frameworks

The role will primarily focus on the design, development, and deployment of algorithms analyzing high-speed real-time electrical sensor data.

Job Duties

  • Design and implement scalable, data-driven solutions to extract insights from high-frequency sensor data
  • Contribute to the creation of internal tools for building data sets as well as training and validating models
  • Provide inputs for developing user-facing visualizations for results and for monitoring overall system performance
  • Participate in software design, production-readiness, and code reviews

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mathematics, Science, or an Engineering Field
  • 6+ years of combined education and experience analyzing and presenting insights drawn from large data sets

Whisker Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team extracting insights from electrical networks. This team is responsible for advancing Whisker Lab’s infrastructure and technology to detect early warning signs of electrical fires in homes, preventing one of the deadliest types of fires. The role will primarily focus on our software and systems supporting a fleet of hundreds of thousands of IoT sensors reporting high speed real-time electrical sensor data.
