The Ting Operations Engineer will report to the Director of Operations and support efforts and be responsible for duties related to Ting Fire Operations and Technical Operations. You’ll be joining a small and experienced team of business leaders, engineers, and data scientists seeking to make the world a safer and more efficient place. Come join us!

Job Duties

  • Support Ting customers focusing on electrical fire hazard operations, mitigation and sensor-related support activities, including after regular business hours as needed
  • Plan and coordinate support efforts related to mitigation activities with customers and contractor partners relating to Ting operations
  • Work with partners and customers to isolate and troubleshoot issues in the field
  • Data review and analysis
  • Technical project management
  • Assist with producing documentation related to processes used for training and support
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Strong understanding of the principals of electricity
  • Strong mathematical and data analysis skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills (phone, email, face-to-face)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively
  • Preferred (but not required): Knowledge and experience with electric utility distribution systems and home electrical systems


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or technical discipline
  • A willingness and ability to participate as a member of a team in a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Travel as needed
